They say time flies faster as you get older, and I can say that it sure feels that way. After one year of planning and deliberating, it’s becoming really real that we are leaving Melbourne soon…
At the end of this month, we will be moving to Tokyo! It’s not a “oh it’s forever” kind of move, but it definitely is a “let’s try this for one year and see what the future holds” kind.
I am excited to blog more about my adventures (and maybe misadventures) in Japan, but before then… There’s one month of final preparation and packing.
A few years back, I bought this adorable Moleskine notebook at NoteMaker‘s annual sale (totes recommend this to any stationery lover out there!), not knowing that I’ll be using it one day not to document my Japan travels, but to actually write down my thoughts while living in the land of the rising sun.
The prettiness of this notebook is in its simplicity and minimalist design, Moleskine-style.
The leather exterior isn’t the only thing cool about this particular Moleskine. The City Notebooks line include maps of the particular city, Tokyo in this case, and also various lists to jot down my favourite restaurants, hotels, or anything else that tickles your fancy.
So of course, when it was time for me to take this Moleskine out of my drawer, I was really excited – thus, the photos and all! The hubby mentioned something about being “old school” for using paper notebooks in this day and age… But everyone who knows me knows that when it comes to paper, I am pretty old school!
But how can I not be… <3
So here we are… I’ve got my Tokyo Moleskine notebook, a new wallet to fit Japanese notes, my cute 300-yen SUICA card holder, and the very special mustard purse – handmade by my awesomely talented friend.
It’s crazy to think that at the end of this month, we will be starting a new life in a totally different country, with a language we barely understand and customs we are yet to get accustomed to. It’s an exciting journey, and one that I would like to share with all of you. And of course, this means… more Japan-related blog posts coming to you soon!
Lots of love.
